Exclusive Interview, Michael Jackson continues to clarify the riffs, the madness, & the future of the music industry as he sees it!

I think that alot of people have gotten co-dependent on file photo ops with stories included.
What do you mean?
Well things like I go by the nickname stinky all the time or that Q is my hypnotist things like that.
Q he is your svengali is he not?
Michael: Not.
What, is'nt Q the answer to the American Blacks cry for talent and quality, oh come on Michael fess up with out him would'nt you be up a creek?
Michael: Q has many special talents ,however, I have been lucky enough to work with Q on albums. Work denotes that it is a job. Period end of subject. There are alot of things that Q does that are not only offensive, but abusive as well. Q is like a foriegner in america or something when it comes to getting paid. For instance alot of people don't realize that I had to work under different names when I worked for Q.
Thriller was of course my way of telling Q that if you don't want to explain how this business works than I'll have to do more than sing to make my income.
Co- Producer is what?
When your working with Q the band strikes up without pencil or paper, then Q comes in after the tape is made and transcribes. What does that tell you. It tells you that you have to be literate. What's the literacy rate like in the United States. Grim.
I went back to school and I endorse people of all ages to do so. You can never stop learning.
I got very far in the industry but look what happened to me in 7 short years with the "best" managemnet teams supposedly.
Its all alot of talk until you learn how to read everything and know the derivation of the words its so important!
So are you two fighting?
Michael: I think that getting your money out of a Producer is very important. Q will always be a legend to Black America I don't argue that. However, honesty is something that alot of Blacks Q's age feel is not really a right, they treat it like a privalage.
What do you mean?
Man, in my parents day and Q's era blacks shinned shoes, and held elevator doors open for white people. They are still very dominated by their history, you'd be surprised.
I never could read music. That means that I was musically illiterate. I used an African method of making music when I worked with Q and it worked just fine. I'd sing a phrase and the muscians would play it back to me. Poetry.
I went back to school and got my credentials I think that if your going to be doing a job you should stop every once in a while and update yourself.
Right now I'm asking for more money than I got on Thriller.
My era with the Jacksons is going for more money as well.
Thats what the fans liked about my records I reckon.
They knew that the quality was there.
Right now the price is cheap. Look forward to the price going up in the future.
I've payed the price for fame by working with Q for the length of time that I did. You know Q went into television and started working with Mad. I went along with it however it caused bitter feelings and finally a riff that could not be repaired.
Are you afraid of the Black communities reaction?
I've never considered it a problem. The so called Black community is not the only audience that I aimed my music at.
I've never picked people and demographed them for their sexuality, race or religion before why should I start now?
I think that the decision to make myself Producer was the scariest move in my career however I'm very unhappy with my management team and my Producer so why not do it myself?
Sony has alot of people and although Q will be missed he is so behind on payments that the dues on my WIZ card were not even payed. On top of that Q had over 200 people listed as being my stand in or photo double during the media blitz.
I went down myself and told them in writing that I don't have any stand ins. So theres a problem when you have to say good bye to long standing freinds. Your only freinds in this world should be in the bible. I think that we as people have a tendency to give supernatural powers to famous people.
They put their pants on one leg at a time.
I've got so many things to do now that Q is gone.
One thing is to re evaluate my payscale since I've never been payed. The other thing to do is to get all my voice chips and get payed for that. What that means is that groups like TLC, JANET JACKSON, BABYFACE,SEAL,& a host of others including DURAN,DURAN will be comming home again to me.
That is the reason why I started MTV.
I took alot of heat not taking any acts into MTV except for Devo.
The military has a record of my accomplishments and I think that it's going to be a ruff trip for those that have been reading fan magazines all their lives.
It's our feeling that people were wrong. They did talk shows and jokes and even cartoons and people like Diana, Q, ect, sat back and profited on fake pictures. That's just the kind of thing that I don't need in my life right now.
I think the biggest jolt was getting people to understand that its just a job. Why would I let Q touch my social secruity? Why would I have Q at my property. I would'nt
its just a job, one that I was not even compensated properly for. I have always been good at doing the Steely Dan , the camera the caps, it tends to hide the pain, the madness the arguing,.......
