As alway's we bring the acts and the performers that bring in the BIG BUCKS at the box office.
INROCKWETRUST: Michael how is the Industry changing, what have you been doing, and what's are your future plans?
Michael: Well, that's alot of questions. Let's see, I'd like to start with my future plans first and then move to the changing Industry question, in between that I'd like to tell you what I've been doing, how's that?
INROCKWETRUST: It sounds demented enough, please continue.
Michael: Well, the future is bright, at least it is from my perspective. I was lucky enough to get BeetleJuice. I wrote and created alot of the character and you can see it in theme parks like Universal Studios to this day. The batman movie marked a really great opportunity for me to invest in Batman. I'm glad that I did it but honestly have'nt realized the impact of it yet.
I watched multiplicity and knew that I'd worked for nothing. One of the problems with entertainment is having to deal with a movie like that.
I consider myself very lucky to have been afforded the opportunity to work in film. I can't agree with the way they duplicate your act after it gets sucessful.
INROCKWETRUST: So without getting too personal is it your real name, Keaton.
Michael: I can't even say that I know how it's spelled. It's a family thing. It's supposed to remind you that I'm related to Buster.
Theater is a world of make-believe. The eighties provided a way for entertainers to live as "characters", I'm working on drama right now that has the main character living as a Nazi war criminal yet hiding under covert acting make-up. I think the articles and photo oportunities give the character's a life of their own.
INROCKWETRUST: Do you think that people would be surprised?
Michael: I can't say. Being in a magazine and reading one are two entirely different things.I has so much help developing my personification. I have to give the credit to my stint in the armed forces, they really supported my acting abilities.
INROCKWETRUST: So what are you doing now, in addition to writing stories about Nazi war criminals.
Michael: You know if this were a photo op I would be wearing a pair of neatly pressed slacks and sitting on some lawn furniture. If it's the truth your seeking I'm presently reading alot of health information. I love surfing, and I have been checking out some of the newer gear that Sony has put out with specific reference to their NV series. I'm a union orientated person, I've voiced my concerns about living under aka's , I think that in the eighties it was the thing to do. For the year 2002 and beyound it's too complicated. When a movie or work comes out these days your stuck with the name you put on the application.
INROCKWETRUST:Do you think that we helped your situation or hurt it?
Michael: I think that this if the first time I've ever complained about anything.
I usually like to work on films not gripe about differences and work conditions.
In a way you may have screwed me up!
INROCKWETRUST: Well we would'nt you to suffer anything it's just an interview. You are famous though and it does help galvinize us in the rock industry.
Michael: Well it's been a pleasure. Go see Beetle Juice again and again. Incidently how did you like the batman mask I wore? You know that was computer aided? I own the rights to Batman which I have to pinch myself in order to believe sometimes. I'd like to see that somewhere other than a magazine article, my friend.
It's all being taken care of by who?
You see, you don't even know it!
Well it's true somehow.
INROCKWETRUST: Will you come back when your feeling better?
Michael: Yes, I think I will.
